Contemplating this…

“The unknown, our own true nature, has the capacity to wake itself up when you start to fall in love with letting go of all the mental structures you hold onto. Contemplate this: there is no such thing as a true belief. ”

Identification with the Personal

“To pull your identification as a limited self out by the root, you must look at it in the most fundamental way. This means you look beyond your usual concern with solving personal problems. Looking at personal issues is like pulling just the top of the weeds out of your lawn:  they pop right back up.”

Its Personal

I love you.

Even if I’ve never met you, I love you. If you have been out of my life and never to return, I love you. If I never meet you, I love you. If you show up on my path, I will accept, honor and cherish your beautiful soul. I will act in accordance with my values to show you that love.

But there is no guarantee I will like you. That’s personal.

Personal means the personality you embody as a result of how your conditioning has crystalized into form. Its about how similar our vibrations and values are today. Its about the intersection points we have – whether that’s about how our chakras connect or about how much time we spend together.

Loving You isn’t personal. We all strive to attain this great experience of unconditional love yet its right here all the time when we look clearly. But unconditional agreement or unconditional attraction – that’s personal. And never unconditional.

Lead Me Away From Your Heart

Lead me away from your heart
Where I can’t see your soul
In the flash if your eyes
Or your tenderness in the softness
Of your smile.

Lead me away from your heart
Where I can’t see you in my dreams
Coaxing me to be my truest self
Or to shine in my joy.

Lead me away from your heart
And let me walk away
Releasing this bond
Like unripened fruit
And not return even though
My heart will pulsate to the
Same beat as yours
No matter where you are.

There is a place

There is a place
Between my heart and my mind
Where we live.

Here, we are whole
No words are needed
To be divine Oneness.

In this place,
What passes between eyes
Is all that is said.

What passes between forms
As touch
Is truth
In this place

Distance is a hair breadth
Traversed in a thought.

Space & time
Become irrelevant
When light is all there is.

Uniting in a state of love
In relation to the Other,
In relation to and as the One.

Between my heart & mind
There is only you & me
Again and again.

-Gail Matheson

Paying the Ego

“I’m done perpetuating my ego through struggle and making you be the witness of it,” I texted him.

“Its all good, ” he answered, “I’m sorry I haven’t been available for you. ”

Except, his lack of availability was a key part of my growth. I share my heart and soul with him because he will hold me accountable to my higher values. By witnessing me, I don’t get to hide my ego’s subtler patterns.

There is a fine line between inquiry and feeding the ego by constantly trying to get the story right. Or by sharing your flaws while re-energizing them by constantly looking at them.

I realized that my sharing had turned into a way of focusing on and energizing my ego.

“I would rather start to tell you about my moments of deepening and consciousness, ” I said.

“That would be good for you, ” he replied.

And then this came in to my email today:

You get what you pay for, and you pay for what you think about.

Pint sized priestess discusses soul

While watching TV, my daughter asked me how people on shows could be someone different than who they really are. In other words, she wanted to understand acting. We discussed acting,  pretending and dreaming. Then I took it further.

“Little One, are you this body?”, I asked.

“Yes”, she said, followed immediately by “No.”

“Well, which is it?” I prompted.

“No. I’m my soul,” she said.

She hugged me, and went back to the TV.
